Inclusive Fitness
The concept of the IM ABLE Inclusive Fitness program came from the experiences of Chris Kaag, founder of the foundation, and his work with those who have disabilities.
Many people with different abilities will go into a fitness facility only to be faced with operators who are inexperienced with clients who have challenges. As a result, the facility staff will immediately require these clients to engage a personal trainer. On average, this can add $200 per month to a membership.
The goal of our Inclusive Fitness program is to provide an affordable opportunity for everyone to reap the benefits of fitness– both mental and physical. The delivery of this program is through IM ABLE affiliated centers as well as with a team of trainers who can go to a facility (such as a school) to work with a group locally.
Disability Advocacy
Founder Chris Kaag does speaking engagements to show that regardless of his wheelchair he maintains an active and fulfilling life. Handcycling, working out at his gym, Corps Fitness, and kayaking are all examples of how he is doing what he promotes…getting up and moving. Whether disabled or able-bodied, we all have challenges but it is the goal of the IM ABLE Foundation to demonstrate that they don’t have to be limiting factors. By getting out in the community and showing people of all abilities the potential to lead an active lifestyle, it is our hope that others will be inspired to make positive changes.
Chris is available for leadership development, team building and speaking engagements. For more information please contact us at: [email protected]
