Mission

The mission of the IM ABLE Foundation is simple. We remove obstacles that keep people with challenges on the sidelines, providing them access to programs and equipment tailored to their needs and a community of all abilities to support them.

Disability Advocacy

Founder Chris Kaag does speaking engagements to show that regardless of his wheelchair he maintains an active and fulfilling life. Handcycling, working out at his gym, Corps Fitness, and ORHC- Offroad Handcycling are all examples of how he is doing what he promotes…getting up and moving.  Whether disabled or able-bodied, we all have challenges but it is the goal of the IM ABLE Foundation to demonstrate that they don’t have to be limiting factors. By getting out in the community and showing people of all abilities the potential to lead an active lifestyle, it is our hope that others will be inspired to make positive changes.

Chris is available for leadership development, team building and speaking engagements. For more information:

Adaptive Personal Training

IM ABLE removes stigma within the community by raising awareness of all the ways that adaptive athletes can redefine possible. We use the word ‘adaptive’ instead of ‘disabled’ because we believe in the importance of showcasing that there’s multiple ways to complete tasks or achieve goals.

Our adaptive fitness trainers provide personalized plans to help individual clients and/or small groups achieve their goals, and then set new ones. Currently, we offer services online via zoom and at our facility at 1007 Hill Ave Building 17, Wyomissing, PA 19610.

Through our training programs, athletes work on building muscle strength, cardiovascular endurance, balance, and flexibility, all of which can aid in mobility, preventing falls, enabling access, and so much more. We believe in fostering a “can do” attitude that helps our clients achieve things that they never thought to be physically possible. The emphasis on mindset is what sets IM ABLE’s adaptive training programs apart from the rest, because with the right mindset, we firmly believe that you can achieve anything.

Program participants must complete a medical clearance prior to starting the program. There is a fee of $55 per hour for the training. At this time, we are unable to accept insurance. Financial assistance is available on a sliding scale based on income.
