Tyler Carter

At the age of one, Tyler had his right leg amputated due to being born without a fibula. Not letting this stop him or hold him back, Tyler strived to live life to the fullest. He has worked to live a healthy and active lifestyle by doing all sorts of activities including basketball, swimming, tennis, skateboarding, and finally skiing.

Skiing is Tyler’s true love, and he spends his winters training in Winter Park, CO. Dedicating all of his time and energy he was able to make the 2014 U.S. Paralympic Team and compete in the Giant Slalom Race at the 2014 Sochi Paralympics. He finished 26th out of a large field. Tyler also competed in the 2015 Alpine World Championships in Panorama Canada where he finished 14th in the Slalom Race and 24th in the Giant Slalom Race. He is back to training for the upcoming winter and already has his eyes set on the 2018 Games in South Korea.

Tyler has a huge heart and is a strong believer in giving back to the community. He has been a huge supporter of IM ABLE from the very beginning and spends much of his free time helping promote living active lifestyles. He also volunteers with numerous other non-profit programs. Tyler is looking for financial sponsors to help him train and work towards his goal of competing in the 2018 Paralympic Games as a skier. Any donation will help him work towards his goal of going back to the Paralympics in 2018 in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
